International Work in Palestine Tuesday 30th May 6.30pm Cowley Club, 12 London Rd, Brighton

Discussion and film showing about work with the International Solidarity Movement, (ISM) in Hebron in the occupied West Bank. ISM is a Palestinian lead movement aimed at supporting grassroots resistance against the occupation. In occupied Hebron we provide an international presence to prevent attacks by Israeli settlers and document Israeli military and settler violence. (more…)

Launch of Brighton-Toubas Region Friendship and Solidarity Group

Members of the Brighton and Hove Palestine Solidarity Campaign (BHPSC) have recently returned from a fact finding trip to Toubas, Palestine. They witnessed the impact of Israel’s occupation on the everyday lives of Palestinians in the Toubas Region and plan to set up an organization to give solidarity to the people living there.

The two Brighton residents met teachers, students, women’s groups, farmers co-ops and health care workers in Toubas who are isolated by the Israeli military occupation of the area. (more…)

West pushes Palestinians further into crisis

The remnants of Palestinian civil society, brutalized by the occupation and ongoing encirclement by the apartheid wall, is now reeling under the shock of the sudden removal of all US and EU aid. Their crime? To have voted in free and fair elections for a movement, Hamas, which Bush and Blair argue is ‘terrorist’.

On Sunday 30th April I had to unexpectedly cut my visit to Palestine short and return to Britain. I needed to get from Nablus, in th e North of the West Bank, to Jerusalem as quickly as possible. It took me five hours - others travelling with me did not get there at all. (more…)

This Saturday everybody is apprehensive about further settler attacks.
