Campaign launched to free Al Masra’ villagers.

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

A complaint is being made against Israeli police after the lives of three British women were threatened by armed Israeli settlers.

One of the settlers was identified by Israeli police at the scene as a security guard for the illegal settlement of Talmon B. No action has been taken against this man. The three members of the Brighton-Tubas Friendship and Solidarity Group were subsequently arrested, held for 33 hours in an Israeli gaol and released without charge. (more…)

PRESS RELEASE - BUILDING SOLIDARITY IN THE FACE OF VIOLENCE - BRIGHTON DELEGATION RETURN FROM PALESTINE

Monday, November 5th, 2007

All of the ten people who have just returned from a delegation to Palestine from the Brighton-Tubas Solidarity Group, have their own unique stories to tell. In their two week visit they’ve been shot at, arrested, and discovered that produce grown on stolen Palestinian land and using child labour, is being sold in British supermarkets including Tesco’s.  One delegate said, “Although it was often shocking, these events are part of daily life in Palestine and the people we met were full of friendship despite their situation.”   (more…)

Settler violence, army collusion and justice

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Yesterday I found myself with two friends, on a Palestinian hillside, being pursued by an Israeli settler shouting and shooting indiscrimiately. Life in the women’s prison

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

What would they have done to me if I was Palestinian? (more…)

STRIKES AND CLOSURES IN OCCUPIED PALESTINE

As I arrived in Jerusalem yesterday some of the worst internal conflict

Inside the Chicken Run - Ramallah

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

3rd April 06 These emails are from a Brighton based activist spending April in occupied Palestine with the International Solidarity Movement, a network of international activists set up to support Palestinian non violent resistance agaisnst Israeli occupation of Palestinian land. In these emails I will be writing short accounts of aspects of the occupation and resistance. Last week I returned to occupied Palestine after three years being away. I thought I’d paid as much attention as possible to the situation here but I still wasn’t quite prepared for the twisted nightmare that Palestine is being transformed into. Yesterday I caught my first glimpse of the new Qalandia checkpoint, the main crossing between Jerusalem and Ramallah. Three years ago the crossing was a comparatively crude series of road blocks manned by IDF soldiers. It was an oppressive place where you often found huge queues of Palestinians waiting at the whim of the soldiers and people being detained for hours without reason. (more…)
