Food Spiked With Mosquito's and Beaten - Ex Prisoner Speaks Of Israeli Cruelty

We entered Al Far'a refugee camp today to be greeted once again by numerous amounts of children mesmerized by our presence. We were there to meet Sami who had served over five years in prison for being too active in his fight against the occupation. He had been arrested at 18 from the very house we were sat in as he now talked of his wife and new born child.

Throughout the decades of Israeli military occupation, Palestinians from all walks of life have been illegally detained by Israel. Since the beginning of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories in 1967, over 650,000 Palestinians have been detained by Israel. This forms approximately 20% of the total Palestinian population in the Occupied Territories.

Prisoner's Day in Tubas

Today Tubas prisoner's society held a rally outside the Red Cross building in Tubas to commemorate prisoner's week. Students at Al Quds Open University in Tubas also held a vigil for the families of prisoners in the university grounds. At the university vigil students gave prisoners' families trees to plant. Each tree was the same age as the amount of years the person had been in prison.
