A few days in Tubas

For anyone checking our blogs we are sorry that we have not yet been able to post any up. Since arriving in Tubas we have been on a non stop tour arranged by the Prisoners Society here. We have seen the 'true face of the occupation' by: meeting the families of prisoners who have been torn apart by the occupation; the village of Atoof that have lost most of their land and are under constant threat from nearby Israeli army barracks; and seeing the homes and police stations in the town destroyed by the IDF.
We have had chance to meet with army local organisations and made some concrete plans of how to consolidate our friendship and solidarity links. These include: Al Quds Open University, trade unionists, health services, members of the women's group and a local sports club who are keen to find a similar organisation to work with in Brighton.
And, of course, we have been the victims of the famous palestinian hospitality. We hope to post some blogs giving our impressions and experiences very soon, but today we are off to the demonstration at Beli'in.
